We’re Kathy and Alyssa, cousins, lifelong creatives, and the duo behind Artful Keepsakes!
Based in the Chicago suburbs, we come from a family of makers. With a blacksmith grandfather and florists, decorators, and carpenters in the family, we grew up surrounded by people who could turn an idea into something special. Creating has always felt like part of who we are.
After following our own creative paths, we decided to combine our talents and build something together. Being family makes this adventure even sweeter, and we bring that same heart to every celebration we’re part of.
Alyssa
Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’m a graphic designer, illustrator, and lifelong artist. My creative streak started with sidewalk chalk, handmade outfits for my dolls, and an unfortunate drawing on my mom’s minivan with a rock. Sorry, Mom!
I turned that curiosity into a career, earning my degree in graphic design in 2020 and receiving three awards for my portfolio work. My professional experience spans branding, packaging, marketing materials, illustration, murals, and even album art.
Artful Keepsakes brings that experience to a more personal kind of project: your celebrations. Alongside the joy of painting your favorite people, I get to put my design background to work through custom invitation suites and printed details. These are pieces I approach as a professional designer, considering everything from typography and layout to how the finished design will look in print. I love creating something that feels like you, whether it’s a portrait you’ll frame or an invitation you’ll tuck away for years.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me reading, baking, spending time with friends, or sneaking in a nap with my cats.

Hi, I’m Kathy! My path has taken a few turns, but creativity has always been at the heart of it. I started college as an art major before switching to biology to pursue nursing. After being accepted into an accelerated nursing program, I realized I wanted a more creative career. That led me to our family-owned flower shop, where I worked until it was sold a few years ago.
I’ve also spent the past seven years as a stay-at-home mom to my two children. Through every chapter, art has remained a way to care for myself and reconnect with something I love. Artful Keepsakes is an exciting step back into that creative world, and I’m so happy to share it with you.
When I’m not creating, you’ll find me spending time with my family, exercising, cooking, or enjoying the outdoors with my dog.
